The Coffee House & Bakery Coming Soon to Kernans Newtowncunningham will be the place to sit, relax and enjoy the best locally roasted coffees, loose leaf teas and luxury hot chocolates, made with organic milk sourced from a few miles away. Gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads and pancakes will be freshly prepared, offering a wide choice of options.
Our in-house bakery will provide classic baked treats, along with originally designed desserts freshly prepared by local bakers and Kernans long time employee Andrena McConnell who has a passion for creating delicious bakes .
Mark Lanford originally from Melbourne, who has been living in Newtowncunningham for over 10 years has taken on the role as Manager of the Coffee House. Having worked for over 20 years in the hospitality industry, with seven of those at Lough Eske Castle in both events management and sales, Mark started the Triskele Coffee Barista Van last year to follow his dream of creating fantastic coffee and food using great local products in a sustainable way.
"When I was approached by Anthony in relation to the Coffee House & Bakery, the concept exactly matched my own ethos and goals, and I saw it as an opportunity to help create something special right here in Donegal. It’s important to me that the service is not just about being friendly and welcoming, it’s being reliable, consistent and aiming to provide an experience that customers will enjoy and remember", said Mark.
The Coffee House at Kernans, set to open in mid July will become a community meeting spot and offering a cup of coffee to suit anyone’s needs. It will be the perfect place to catch up with friends, do a little reading, or just soak in the atmosphere.
